Key Stage Two

Key Stage Two includes Year 3 (age 7 to 8), Year 4 (age 8 to 9), Year 5 (age 9 to 10) and Year 6 (age 10 to 11).

Our Key Stage 2 curriculum offers pupils in Years 3 to 6 a vibrant opportunity to explore a diverse range of subjects. While class teachers lead the core UK English and Mathematics curricula, PSHE and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) units, learning is further enriched by our specialist staff.

All year groups benefit from expert tuition in Art and Design Technology (ADT), Music, PE, Digital Education (DE), Drama, and Languages. For a more in-depth look at what your child will be learning, please refer to our subject-specific Curriculum Booklets.

Our Facilities and Learning Environment

All classrooms are equipped with extensive resources including Interactive White boards.

Our modern, on-site facilities include:

  • A spacious PE Hall: Used for sport, Teraja Assemblies, and whole-school events.
  • Digital Education Lab: Equipped for modern computing and DE lessons.
  • Art & DT Rooms: Dedicated spaces for creative and technical projects.
  • Dance & Drama Studio: Featuring sprung flooring and floor-to-ceiling mirrors.
  • School Library: A quiet hub for reading and research.

Typically, there are two classes per year group, with average sizes ranging from 12 to 22 pupils depending on the year’s total enrolment. This allows us to maintain a strong focus on personalised learning, ensuring every child has the support they need to thrive.

The School Day

We encourage an active start to the morning, with many of our pupils walking or cycling to school.

  • Staff are on duty from 7:00 am, with the school day beginning at 7:20 am.
  • There are 7 periods in a day.
  • Students enjoy a 25-minute morning break and a 50-minute lunch break.
  • Children should bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. As we take sun safety seriously, sun hats are mandatory. We also recommend applying sunscreen and insect repellent before arriving at school.
  • The school day ends at 2:35 pm if students are not participating in CCA’s.

Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs)

Learning continues beyond the classroom with our extensive Co-Curricular Activities programme, running Monday to Thursday. While we maintain a core selection of popular clubs, the timetable varies each term to provide pupils with a broad range of new experiences. We also have a running club on a Friday morning which is hugely popular with students and parents alike.

Academic Excellence & Support

Although our admissions policy is non-selective, our pupils consistently perform above the UK national average at the end of Key Stage 2.

For pupils who require additional assistance, our Inclusion Team provides expert support. This includes helping children who are new to the English language, providing tailored learning interventions, and closely monitoring individual progress.

Beyond the Classroom

We believe in learning through experience. Throughout the academic year, pupils participate in various school trips, including a residential trip which is invariably the highlight of the year.

Furthermore, our curriculum extends into the local area and beyond. Students work collaboratively on community projects such as local schools and with International charities, helping our pupils become active, global citizens who contribute positively to the world around them.
